Rodger Thomason, Mechanical Engineer
BSME from University of California, Los Angeles (UCLA) 1982 - Mechanical Engineering
Rodger Thomason is a product design engineer, with more than 37 years of experience as an engineer. Rodger started his career working in the aerospace industry during his junior year at UCLA. Upon graduation, Rodger continued working in the aerospace industry until he decided it was time to start his own company. In 1989, Rodger launched Origin Design.
The goal when starting Origin Design was to offer high level 3D solid modeling, testing, and prototype fabrication to our customers. Essentially, take the knowledge learned in the aerospace industry and scale it to fit smaller companies with limited budgets.
“We’re not magicians, just brilliant engineers with passion.”
— Rodger Thomason
Bill Conley, Mechanical Engineer
BSME from Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute, Troy, New York1986 - Mechanical Engineering
Masters of Science from Rensselear Polytechnic Institute, Troy, New York 1988 - MS Mechanical Engineering
Professional Engineer License (PE) 1993
After graduation, Bill went to work for Ford Motor Company, in Dearborn Michigan as a Powertrain Engineer. He received extensive training in vehicle component and systems design, and developed into a lead powertrain noise specialist. Six years later, Bill decided to leave Ford Motor Company to join a smaller engineering consulting firm named Virtual Engineering, also in Dearborn Michigan. Virtual Engineering was searching for someone with an expertise in complex mechanisms. This was the type of challenge Bill was looking for.
In 1995 Bill moved to Southern California to work for Hauser Inc., a world class industrial design firm. Several years later, Bill then went on to become a partner in Origin Design.
“I can explain it to you, but I can’t understand it for you.”
— Bill Conley
When Bill and Rodger have some free time, they do play as hard as they work. That's Bill on the left and Rodger on the right.
